Fire and smoke were a recurring obsession throughout Lynch's life and work: Twin Peaks, Wild Heart, Lost Highway They are masterpieces sprinkled with references to fire.
A heavy smoker since the age of eight, Lynch passed away in January 2025, a victim of emphysema exacerbated by the smoke from the Los Angeles wildfires. At the time of his death, this wine was resting in a small stainless steel tank, with minimal oxygen exposure, which had given it a more reductive profile (related to sulfur metabolism and the biochemical processes that take place deep within the earth, in volcanic cones, etc.).
This Immortels #2 edition pays tribute to this eternal genius who spent his life "playing with fire," and who made us dream with our eyes open and see the other side of things. Fire walk with me.
